Unit 1: The Language of Chemistry: 1 hour 30 minutes: 20% of A level qualification
Unit 2: Energy, Rates and Carbon Chemistry: 1 hour 30 minutes: 20% of A level qualification.

Unit 3: Physical and Inorganic Chemistry: 1 hour 45 minutes: 25%
Unit 4: Organic Chemistry and Analysis: 1 hour 45 minutes: 25%
Unit 5: Practical Examination: 10% (This consists of two parts: Experiment Task and Practical Methods and Analysis Task. These are examined in the Spring term of Year 13 and each worth 5% of the Practical mark.)

Does the AS count towards the A level or is it a standalone qualification?
The AS can be taken as a standalone qualification at the end of Year 12 but it also counts as 40% of the overall A level.
