Studying Spanish at A level builds on your previous knowledge of the language, enhancing your linguistic skills and cultural understanding of Spanish-speaking countries and communities.
Why study Spanish?
You will analyse literature and film to gain a deeper insight into language structures and cultural contexts, while also developing confidence and fluency in spoken Spanish. AS Component 1: Speaking 12% – 12-15 minutes + 15 minutes preparation
AS Component 2: Listening, Reading, Translation and Critical Response in writing 28% – 2 hours 30 mins

The AS will count towards the A level qualification as per the percentages above.
How will you be assessed?
Externally assessed in Year 12 with an oral examination and 1 written paper. In year 13 there is an additional oral and 2 written papers.
