Partnerships

At Howell’s School Llandaff GDST, we are committed to cultivating collaborative partnerships with nearby locally maintained primary and secondary schools.

These partnerships aim to enhance learners’ literacy, numeracy, scientific thinking, fitness, critical thinking, teamwork, confidence, musical skills, and entrepreneurial skills. Estyn has recognised these partnerships as sector-leading practices.

Partnership Impact

Expanding the scope and reach of these partnerships has yielded significant benefits for students from local schools as well as Howell’s own students. These collaborations have established a network of community contacts eager to share their skills and knowledge with learners and each other. Extending their involvement with Howell’s supports various school activities, fostering mutually beneficial relationships and solidifying Howell’s role within the broader community.

Learner Standards

The standards of learners have improved across various skills that are highly valued but not always easily measurable. Howell’s acknowledges the importance of nurturing students’ confidence, resilience, critical thinking, and resourcefulness. Through these strategic partnerships, students engage in meaningful and enjoyable experiences that allow them to discover and develop these essential skills within themselves.

Sharing Good Practice

We actively disseminate good practices by liaising closely with local primary and secondary schools, convening regular meetings with strategic groups such as CareersWales, and delivering presentations to school leaders to promote innovative ideas. Documenting activities for staff and professionals to review allows us to evaluate feedback and continuously improve our programmes. Howell’s remains dedicated to exploring new avenues for leveraging partnerships to enrich the learning experience.
