Baby & Toddler Play Groups
Stay + Swim and Stay + Smile offer enriching, fun sessions for boys and girls from babies to toddlers, featuring confidence-building swim classes and joyful playgroups in a warm, supportive setting.

Our popular Stay + Swim classes for babies (4 months – 18 months), toddlers (18 months – 3 years) and pre-school children (3 years – 4 years) take place on selected Mondays during term time. Led by two experienced Howell’s swimming teachers, these engaging sessions focus on building confidence and unlocking each child’s swimming potential in a supportive, child-led environment.
Parents and carers of babies and toddlers join their little ones in the pool, while pre-school children take part without a parent or carer in the water, supported by a teacher who is in the pool at all times. Please come prepared with appropriate swimwear and swim nappies where required. Some children may also benefit from wearing a wetsuit to help maintain a comfortable core body temperature.
We offer three sessions:
- 10.30am–11.00am (pool open from 10.15am): Children aged 3 – 4 years
Maximum 4 children per class - 11.15am–11.45am (pool open from 11.00am): Children aged 18 months – 3 years
Maximum 10 children per class - 11.45am–12.15pm (pool open from 11.30am): Babies aged 4 months – 18 months

Our much-loved Stay + Smile playgroup offers a welcoming and joyful space for babies, toddlers and their parents or carers to play, explore and connect. Held on selected Tuesday mornings during term time, these relaxed sessions run from 9.15am to 10.30am in The Hub. The Hub is a bright, stand-alone space located at the end of the lane leading to Howell’s Crescent. Designed with families in mind, it is easy to access and offers excellent baby-changing facilities, space for pushchairs, an accessible toilet and its own secure outdoor area.
Each session is filled with a variety of engaging indoor and outdoor toys and activities, encouraging little ones to learn through play. Meanwhile, parents and carers have the perfect opportunity to meet, chat and build friendships with others in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Refreshments are provided, making it the perfect start to your morning.
