College Admissions FAQs

We welcome applications throughout the year. While scholarship applications must be submitted by a set deadline, we are still very happy to accept applications for a place in the College.
Please contact Mrs Chrissie Hall-Davis to arrange a meeting with the Head and to book a tour of the College. We’ll be pleased to organise a personalised taster day or an opportunity for your child to meet with students and Heads of Department. Once the application has been submitted, your child will be invited to an interview.

We expect students to achieve a range of at least six good grades at GCSE with an A*, A or B (or a level 6, 7, 8 or 9) in the subjects that they wish to take at A level. Students must also have grade C (or level 5) or above in English, Mathematics and Science even if they are not taking these subjects.
Some subjects require certain grades at GCSE and further details can be found in the offer letter.

We would invite you in to meet with the Head who will make the final decision.

Your child can either buy lunch in the View Cafe or leave school and purchase lunch locally. Students may also bring their own lunch into school.

The College uniform is relaxed and modern: a simple t-shirt and hoodie embroidered with the Howell’s College logo.
These items can be purchased through School Blazer, and second-hand uniform may be available — please contact Chrissie Hall-Davis for more information.
