We are proud to share that Year 13 student Carys has just returned from an incredible experience in Italy, where she represented Great Britain at the 104th International Session of the European Youth Parliament.
Joining six other GB representatives, Carys worked within a diverse committee made up of students from over 10 different nationalities, with a total of 36 countries represented at the event. This unique gathering brought together 250 young people in the city of Pordenone under the theme “Urbs ad Mensuram Hominis – Redesigning cities to fit human needs.”
During the programme, Carys’ committee focused on finance and the economy, debating how to address structural inequalities that limit access to education around investing. Through collaborative discussions, parliamentary-style debates, and cultural exchange, participants explored innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
Reflecting on her experience, Carys highlighted the value of working with such a wide range of perspectives and the opportunity to engage deeply with important global issues.
The European Youth Parliament offers a truly enriching platform for young people to develop critical thinking, confidence, and international understanding — and we are delighted to see Carys making the most of this opportunity.
